About the position

The Inside Sales Engineer at Proofpoint plays a crucial role in the sales process, acting as a technical lead and trusted advisor to both Account Managers and customers. This position involves delivering compelling product demonstrations, conducting proof-of-concept evaluations, and designing People-Centric Security solutions to address cyber threats. The role requires collaboration with the sales team to develop account strategies and maintain technical communication with customers throughout the sales cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute targeted account penetration strategies.
  • Build trust and rapport with customers and prospects, serving as their main technical point of contact.
  • Deliver a high volume of compelling product demonstrations addressing customer security needs.
  • Conduct technical discovery and assist in planning, execution, and wrap-up of Proof-of-Concept (POC) and Production Evaluations.
  • Design and champion complex People-Centric Security solutions encompassing the entire Proofpoint portfolio.
  • Assist in professional services deployments, technical training, and present at industry seminars or trade shows.
  • Provide valuable customer insights to Product Management, Marketing, and Product Development teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on technical experience in a customer-facing role in the cybersecurity industry.
  • Experience in Enterprise or Cloud Security, including cloud/SaaS platforms and messaging.
  • Experience selling and positioning a cybersecurity platform.
  • Exposure to cloud security, IT security assessments, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
  • Familiarity with enterprise email solutions such as Exchange/O365, G-Suite, and SMTP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Directory Services and protocols such as Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Knowledge of email authentication methods like SPF, DKIM, DMARC.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols such as SMTP, DNS, and HTTP.
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks like MITRE and NIST.
