About the position

Dynamic Energy Solutions, LLC is seeking a full-time Commercial Solar Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Chesterbrook, PA. This position is primarily remote, allowing flexibility for candidates located anywhere within the USA. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of solar electrical systems, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary technical and regulatory standards. The engineer will be responsible for creating updated pricing sheets for electrical equipment and quantifying the cost aspects of designs. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, particularly as they apply to solar energy systems. In this position, the engineer will resolve technical issues that arise from the early stages of development through to construction and operations & maintenance (O&M). The engineer will generate accurate, buildable drawings and assist the design team in achieving project goals and processes. Key tasks will include performing SKM modeling and arc flash studies, evaluating designs for compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), and calculating technical design needs such as conductor ampacity, voltage drop, equipment sizing, and production. The engineer will also be responsible for drawing line diagrams and system component designs using AutoCAD. Additionally, this role involves supervising electrical and electronic drafters, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality outputs. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Power System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, along with at least three years of relevant experience in the solar energy sector. Responsibilities

  • Implement updated pricing sheets for electrical equipment and quantify the cost aspects of designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent in Electrical and Power System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 3 years of experience in the position offered or in an engineering occupation related to Electrical and Power System Engineering.
  • Experience with modeling software ETAP and PSCAD.
  • Experience with production modeling software PVSYST.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD.
  • Experience working on commercial and utility scale solar projects.
