About the position

The Commercial Solutions Engineer is a customer-facing technology generalist responsible for uncovering and developing opportunities in data center, edge, core, cloud, and security technologies. This role involves a consultative approach to understand how technology enables business, ensuring account retention, and driving sales in various solution practice areas. The position requires collaboration with sales teams and technical decision-makers to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Solution Practice sales quota in their territory/pod
  • Take ownership of the sales pipeline for Solution Practice opportunities
  • Engage with customers to ensure account retention and penetrate multiple lines of sales entry
  • Collaborate, develop and execute strategy for top prospects with the sales team
  • Ongoing training and learning to understand the company services offerings
  • Collaborate and engage with multiple layers of contacts within an organization
  • Drive the sales process of the solution, including identifying opportunities and closing
  • Build the region/territory based on strategic account planning
  • Demonstrate leadership to ensure comprehensive solutions that meet customer expectations
  • Build strong relationships and trust with technical decision makers and executive stakeholders
  • Deliver a world-class customer experience according to company standards
  • Develop relationships with Local Technology Community and customer technical personnel
  • Educate and develop sales teams on technical selling and technology trends
  • Mentor and guide Technology Advisors in the Advanced Solutions Group

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and High Availability Solutions
  • Strong knowledge of Virtualization technologies and Hypervisors
  • Expertise in mainstream technologies including Dell/EMC, NetApp, HPE, Cisco, Palo Alto, Pure Storage, Azure and AWS
  • Experience with Public and Private Cloud Solutions
  • Ability to train and disseminate information within an Area or Operation
  • Consultative approach to cloud, virtualization, storage, networking, and servers technology
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
