About the position

The Commercial Subcontracts Principal at SAIC will play a crucial role in supporting the operational effectiveness of the Commercial practice within the organization. This position involves managing commercial strategies, alliances, and innovative product development while ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations and commercial contracting practices. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to negotiate agreements and support procurement needs, ultimately contributing to SAIC's growth and mission fulfillment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the strategic vision for the commercial contracting, subcontracting, and pricing team.
  • Develop subcontract specifications, statements of work, and terms and conditions for procurement.
  • Prepare bid packages, conduct bidders' conferences, and analyze proposals.
  • Negotiate subcontract provisions and manage modifications to subcontracts.
  • Collaborate with contracts administration to develop subcontract policies and procedures.
  • Support product development activities and respond to inquiries regarding commerciality and pricing.
  • Lead vendor and pricing discussions related to product development and delivery.
  • Design pricing strategies that optimize profitability while remaining competitive.
  • Develop acquisition strategies for emerging technologies and assess new technology opportunities.
  • Negotiate and manage corporate-level strategic alliance agreements and third-party vendor agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and ten years of related experience; or Master's degree and eight years; or PhD/JD and five years of experience.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on innovation and adaptability.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of the government acquisition process and FAR regulations.
  • Proven experience with various contract types including FFP, cost-plus, and IDIQ.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Experience in creating and reviewing commercial proposals.
  • Experience utilizing various Cloud Service Provider's Marketplaces.
  • Experience working in a commercial organization or tech company.
