About the position
The Commercial Telecom Cable/Fiber Installation Technician is responsible for performing commercial installation and maintenance duties related to cable and fiber optics. This role involves using various tools and equipment to install and maintain telecommunications systems, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform commercial installation and maintenance duties for telecom systems.
- Use basic cable installation tools and hand tools effectively.
- Proof conduits, pull fiber and coaxial cable, and complete installation tasks.
- Complete required paperwork including installation checklists, timesheets, and service orders.
- Operate vehicles, hand tools, power tools, and ladders safely.
- Climb ladders and operate aerial lifts up to 20 feet above ground as needed.
- Respond to and repair service interruptions during regular business hours or when on-call.
- Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and equipment.
- Comply with safety procedures and requirements during all tasks.
Requirements
- Valid NEC Driver's License.
- Ability to use power tools and hand tools.
- Basic knowledge of cable installation techniques.
- Entry-level experience in telecommunications installation.
