They will also review court judgment searches and corporate authority documentation, entering necessary data into the title database and generating documentation for clients. The underwriter will complete the real estate closing process, ensuring adherence to contracts, lender instructions, and company requirements. Collaboration with the escrow department is essential to address title issues such as easements, tax liens, and boundary disputes. The Commercial Title Underwriter must stay informed about changes in laws and practices affecting title policies by reviewing industry publications. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary to effectively interact with clients and team members. The position requires a Bachelor's degree, with a JD degree being highly preferred, along with a minimum of five years of experience in commercial real estate transactions and title products.
