About the position
The Commercial Underwriter at TEG Federal Credit Union is responsible for evaluating and recommending the approval or denial of commercial loans in accordance with credit union standards. This role involves preparing credit memorandums for loan approvals and conducting reviews of the existing commercial portfolio. The position is ideal for individuals with loan underwriting experience and a solid understanding of commercial lending guidelines, who thrive in a supportive and team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Accurately collect, analyze, and interpret credit bureau and financial data.
- Ensure daily assignments have been completed including processing credit memos and ensure loan review deadlines are met.
- Maintain and provide reporting requirements on borrowers' obligations.
- Provide informed, professional, accurate service and support to all members and associates.
- Develop and maintain knowledge and ability to understand and evaluate financial and quantitative concepts and data.
- Provide high quality recommendations in credit memos produced to ensure success of the commercial lending department.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of similar or related experience, preferably in a bank or credit union.
- College degree in a related field.
- Experience in commercial underwriting is required.
- Knowledge of credit-related laws.
- Knowledge of commercial real estate market and trends.
