About the position

The Commercial Videographer at WEWS, The E.W. Scripps Company, is responsible for shooting, editing, writing, and developing commercials for the station's advertisers and promotional spots for newscasts. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and a creative approach to video production, contributing to the growth of businesses through effective storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Shoot video for station projects, including commercials and promotional spots.
• Work with Canon DSLR cameras and lenses.
• Edit videos using Adobe products, specifically Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and After Effects.
• Collaborate with clients, talent, account executives, and the Commercial Production Manager on field and studio productions.
• Create custom graphics for commercial and promotional projects.
• Maintain the Commercial Production archive, including video, music, and graphics.
• Organize and administer the scheduling of all shooting and editing for department productions.
• Occasional still photography for various station projects, including headshots and billboards.
• Perform other duties as needed and directed by management.
• Drive company vehicles.

Requirements

• Associates degree in a related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred.
• Generally, 2+ years of experience in a related field preferred.
• Proficiency with lighting and video editing, primarily using Adobe products.
• Knowledge and proficiency in posting content to the station's website and social media platforms.
• Ability to work efficiently under multiple deadlines on a daily basis.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with still photography.
• Familiarity with video production for social media platforms.
