About the position

The Commercial Videographer at WEWS, The E.W. Scripps Company, is responsible for producing high-quality video content for commercials and promotional spots. This role involves shooting, editing, and developing video projects that support the station's advertisers and enhance its newscasts. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and a creative approach to storytelling through video.

Responsibilities

• Shoot video for station projects, including commercials and promotional spots.
• Work with Canon DSLR cameras and lenses.
• Edit videos using Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and After Effects.
• Collaborate with clients, talent, account executives, and the Commercial Production Manager.
• Create custom graphics for commercial and promotional projects.
• Maintain the Commercial Production archive, including video, music, and graphics.
• Organize and administer the scheduling of all shooting and editing for department productions.
• Occasional still photography for various station projects.
• Perform other duties as directed by management.
• Drive company vehicles.

Requirements

• Associates degree in a related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred.
• Generally, 2+ years of experience in a related field preferred.
• Proficiency with lighting and video editing, primarily using Adobe products.
• Collaborative attitude and visual creativity.
• Knowledge and proficiency in posting content to the station's website and social media platforms.
• Ability to work efficiently under multiple deadlines.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
