About the position

The Commissary Chef/Supervisor at Neighborly Restaurant is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the commissary kitchen, ensuring the timely preparation and delivery of high-quality food products. This role emphasizes teamwork, quality, and efficient inventory management while maintaining food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory for the commissary, ensuring all ingredients are stocked and available for production.
• Minimize food costs by reducing waste through efficient ordering, storage, and portioning practices.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards, including proper labeling and temperature records.
• Support, train, and develop all kitchen team members in collaboration with the Chef de Cuisine.
• Coordinate production schedules and streamline workflows to meet demand without compromising quality.
• Drive a sense of urgency to deliver fast and smooth service while adhering to recipe procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels and perform weekly inventory assessments.
• Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is in good working order and report any malfunctions.

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Culinary experience in a high-volume restaurant setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work as a team player and in a fast-paced environment.
