About the position
The Commissary Contractor Monitor serves as a key quality assurance representative at a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) facility. This role is primarily responsible for conducting inspections and overseeing contracted services related to stocking, order-writing, custodial duties, and other operations within the commissary. The position ensures compliance with DeCA directives and maintains the integrity of the store's operations during assigned hours.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality assurance inspections and contractor surveillance.
- Provide comments and recommendations for additions, deletions, or changes to contractor services to ensure compliance with DeCA directives.
- Approve or reject contractor's work schedule and check work for quality and timeliness.
- Maintain the store's space allocations program by designating proper item shelf locations when shelf tags are missing or not identifiable.
- Advise commissary or contracted order writers.
- Act as the commissary manager's representative during night hours to ensure government property is secure.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Must meet minimum age requirement.
- Males born after 12-31-1959 must be registered with or exempt from Selective Service.
- Appointment is subject to successful verification of identity and employment eligibility through E-Verify.
- Appointment is subject to a favorable suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain clearance eligibility based on the appropriate background investigation.
- Must meet the physical requirements identified in the Qualifications section.
