About the position

The Commissary Contractor Monitor serves as a key quality assurance role within a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) facility. This position is responsible for conducting inspections and overseeing contracted services related to stocking, order-writing, custodial, and receiving functions in a commissary store. The role ensures compliance with DeCA directives and maintains the integrity of government property during operational hours.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality assurance inspections and contractor surveillance.
• Provide comments and recommendations for additions, deletions, or changes to contractor services to ensure compliance with DeCA directives.
• Approve or reject contractor's work schedule and check work for quality and timeliness.
• Maintain the store's space allocations program by designing proper item shelf locations when shelf tags are missing or not identifiable.
• Advise commissary or contracted order writers.
• Act as the commissary manager's representative during nighttime hours to ensure government property is secure.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including long periods of standing, walking, and bending.
