About the position

The Commissary Production Manager at Northgate Gonzalez Market is responsible for overseeing production operations within the Irvine Plant. This role ensures efficiency and compliance with food safety protocols while leading a team to meet production goals. The manager will work closely with the Director of Plant Operations to maintain a positive work environment and uphold the company's values of servant leadership and respect. The position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in production processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the area of responsibility is organized, staffed, and directed to meet production times.
• Conduct daily work group meetings and communicate important information to employees.
• Schedule and manage associates to meet labor productivity and overtime targets.
• Ensure compliance with government regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, OSHA, etc.).
• Document and follow up on department processes to implement improvements.
• Collaborate with the ERP team and become an expert on ERP systems within the Production Department.
• Manage productivity hours and costs, initiating corrective actions as needed.
• Guide, motivate, and develop staff in alignment with company policies.
• Participate in company-sponsored initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, SQF, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Ensure on-time and accurate production daily, JIT (Just in Time).
• Monitor and ensure compliance with safety and labor regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• 5+ years of manufacturing and processing supervisory experience.
• HACCP Certification required.
• Strong customer service commitment.
• In-depth knowledge of food manufacturing and processing.
• Ability to manage production lines with a hands-on approach.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual in Spanish highly desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of ERP systems.
