About the position

The Commission Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the commission process for Coursera's global sales organization. This position involves calculating and tracking commission payments, administering and auditing sales commission data, and collaborating with various teams to provide insights and suggest improvements. The ideal candidate will have a background in sales commission compensation and strong problem-solving skills, capable of managing multiple tasks with competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of the commissions process for the global field sales organization.
  • Ensure the integrity of sales and commissions data in Xactly, including monthly audits and data reviews to ensure commission accuracy.
  • Calculate and track commission payments for sales teams accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with Sales Ops, People Ops, and Payroll teams to process new hires, terminations, and transfers; set up new hires in line with plan policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to resolve any commission-related issues and ensure transparency.
  • Utilize Excel, Gsheets, and Xactly Incent to manage large datasets, including creating, maintaining, and improving complex formulas and spreadsheets.
  • Ensure data integrity by performing regular audits and identifying discrepancies in commission reports.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to provide insights on commission data and suggest improvements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years sales commission compensation and plan issuance experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and manipulate formulas, pivot tables, and perform data analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to ensure accuracy in data and reporting while working with complex datasets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Xactly Incent and Salesforce.
  • Experience working with commission calculations or a related function (e.g., finance, accounting, or sales operations).
  • Previous experience in the software industry or at a recurring revenue business.
  • Bonus: SQL basics.
