About the position

The Commissioning Manager at FST Technical Services will oversee the commissioning process from design through to completion, ensuring that all installations meet client specifications and regulatory standards. This role involves supervising engineers and field technicians, managing project deliverables, and interfacing with clients to resolve technical issues. The position requires a strong technical background in construction management, particularly within the semiconductor industry, and emphasizes effective communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establish work processes, matrices, and indicators for the General Contractor/Owner.
  • Supervise Engineers and Field Technicians during start-up and commissioning of facility systems.
  • Ensure installations comply with Client Master Specifications and relevant codes.
  • Interface with Client System Owners/Engineers on project quality and system operation.
  • Assist in identifying and solving construction problems with clients and trades.
  • Perform necessary inspections and equipment signoff requirements.
  • Conduct audits for compliance with Client requirements.
  • Coordinate with tool owners for trade preparation for SL1/SL2.
  • Resolve technical construction questions and answer discipline-specific RFIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or related Engineering discipline or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in similar start-up roles for major high-tech construction projects.
  • 5 years of experience in semiconductor, biomedical, or pharmaceutical buildings requiring extensive commissioning activities.
  • Strong knowledge of local and national codes, construction drawings, and industry standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal, electronic, and written forms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in project management and schedule reviews.
  • Familiarity with equipment and system P&IDs, specifications, and drawings.
  • Understanding of micro scheduling for pre-facilitation and construction activity sequencing.
