About the position

The Commodities Pricing & Risk Management Intern for Summer 2025 will be supporting the Sr. Director and broader Commodity Purchasing & Agri-Product staff. The focal areas identified may be changed to meet the needs of the collective Teams at the time of internship. Key Deliverables include supporting Ingredion’s deployment, testing, analysis, and use of GrainSmart & Triple Point systems, which are used for risk management analysis and metrics of Ingredion’s 'Corn Position' across multiple supply chains. The intern will create a holistic project to determine the sources of yield losses and the financial impacts on gross corn cost or reduced agri-product revenue, covering all US/Canada corn wet milling plants and all grain types and Agri-products. Responsibilities also include running and maintaining daily reports to capture firm sales volume, creating allocation sheets for purchasing corn futures, maintaining hedge tracker spreadsheets, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Support the deployment, testing, analysis, and use of GrainSmart & Triple Point systems.
  • Create a project to identify sources of yield losses and financial impacts on corn costs.
  • Run and maintain daily reports to capture firm sales volume.
  • Create allocation sheets for purchasing corn futures.
  • Maintain hedge tracker spreadsheets and reconcile contract volume changes.
  • Communicate with the contract team as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements to manual processes and develop solutions.
  • Learn new systems to improve processes.
  • Act as a liaison between the Commodities department and IT for improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Progress towards a bachelor's degree in agribusiness or related field.
  • Completion of at least 2 years of college with a GPA of at least 3.0/4.0.
  • Coursework in statistics, databases, software systems, and finance.
  • Knowledge and interest in modern agriculture, food systems, and manufacturing.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with diverse individuals.
  • Demonstrated high proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database systems.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
