About the position

The Commodities Python Developer will join the Commodities Front Office Technology team to develop and enhance software solutions that support Commodities Traders in managing their positions. This role involves writing efficient and maintainable code, onboarding new desks to the Live/Intraday Risk Engine, and contributing to regulatory risk reporting. The developer will work on cutting-edge projects that consolidate trade capture, pricing, and risk generation across various Lines of Business, while collaborating closely with Front Office and Finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Writing intelligent, efficient and easily maintainable code to enable Commodities Traders to manage their positions.
• Helping to onboard the remaining Commodities desks to the new Live/Intraday Risk Engine.
• Contributing to the enhancement of existing Greeks, Scenarios, and PnL feeds for Market Risk and Middle Office.
• Development of commodities specific regulatory risk reporting (FRTB/SFRC).
• Involvement with projects that consolidate trade capture, pricing, and risk generation across many Lines of Business (FICC Equities).
• Collaborating effectively with equivalent Front Office technology teams across other Lines of Business.

Requirements

• 3+ years of structured software development experience, preferably in Python or other object-oriented languages.
• Strong communication skills to develop relationships with the business and collaborate with team members.
• A collaborative software development approach.
• Self-motivated and driven to provide solutions for complicated technical and financial problems.
• Experience with pricing and analytics for Commodities derivatives or other financial asset classes.
• Experience working on or closely with a trading desk at a bank or on the buy side.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
