About The Position

The Commodity Associate Manager will oversee commodity contracts, coordinate logistics, and manage inventory for various products, including bakery goods, canola, and cottonseed. This role serves as a crucial link between vendors and internal teams, ensuring efficient commodity flow and timely issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Proven experience in commodity management, logistics, or supply chain roles.
• Strong negotiation and contract writing skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Write and negotiate contracts with vendors, ensuring clarity and adherence to terms.
• Apply correct sales to appropriate purchases for accurate accounting of contracts and inventory.
• Set up and coordinate truck dispatching, including assigning release numbers and specifying pickup/drop-off locations.
• Handle issues related to dispatch, such as canceled loads, incorrect deliveries, and missed pickups.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of inventory status, ensuring all loads are released correctly or managed as back-to-back loads.
• Engage with vendors regarding open releases, request new release numbers, and check on the status of pending numbers.
• Maintain a detailed handwritten log of open release numbers to prevent duplicate load applications and ensure accuracy in inventory records.
• Address and resolve any issues that arise during the dispatching process, including delays and discrepancies.
