About the position

The Communication and SCADA Technician at Hitachi Rail Honolulu JV is responsible for performing preventative maintenance on communication and SCADA equipment, ensuring compliance with maintenance procedures, and supporting the operational efficiency of communication systems. This role involves troubleshooting, analyzing log files, and conducting inspections to maintain system performance, all while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on the Communication and SCADA equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all maintenance procedures and instructions including safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
• Plan and perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities to meet service availability requirements.
• Implement and follow-up on procedures and rules for service, repair, and maintenance of the equipment.
• Oversee the operations and correct functioning of the Communications systems and central equipment to meet performance requirements.
• Periodically download communication, video, and voice log files and analyze them for troubleshooting and predictive maintenance.
• Support field technicians in diagnosing and correcting faults in systems and subsystems.
• Complete operational, equipment failure, safety, and other reports as required.
• Perform routine, preventive, and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, and proper maintenance on assigned central Communication equipment.
• Identify failure trends that may impact fleet availability early.
• Liaise and supervise supplier's staff who perform works.
• Conduct inspections and acceptance of equipment.
• Enter information into the MMIS system.
• Perform related duties as requested by the Manager.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor Degree in Communications or Electronics Engineering.
• 3 years' experience in preventive maintenance technical systems.
• Expert knowledge in communications systems.
