About the position

The Communication Specialist and Editor position is designed to support the Director of Communications in managing departmental procedures. This role involves overseeing weekly email communications to residents, editing community publications, and assisting with social media management. The specialist will also co-manage the New Neighbor Program and provide customer support through various communication channels.

Responsibilities

• Manage weekly email distribution from the Community Association to residents and special communicators.
• Support the Neighborhood Representative Organization by providing information and coordinating materials for monthly meetings.
• Order new resident materials and manage printing for Community Association materials.
• Update and maintain resident information as needed.
• Provide resident support via email, phone, website message board, and social media inquiries.
• Update website information as necessary.
• Participate in monthly editorial meetings for the Sun Rays Magazine and edit submitted content.
• Manage payments for magazine printing, post office, and business materials.
• Evaluate and create new processes as needed.
• Help manage social media accounts, including planning, content creation, and event coverage.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or advertising roles, or a master's degree in a related field.
• 1-3 years of accounting or budgeting experience.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
