About the position

As a Communication Specialist Supervisor, you will have supervisory responsibilities that include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees. You will plan, assign, and direct work, appraise performance, and address complaints while resolving problems that may arise within the team. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Avera Careflight Communication Center.
  • Coordinate all calls for aeromedical and ground services.
  • Obtain and communicate necessary information to ambulance, flight crews, and hospital personnel.
  • Maintain and provide training for software and operational duties.
  • Perform clerical duties and requisition supplies, equipment, and services as directed.
  • Interview, hire, develop, train, and retain employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work for team members.
  • Appraise performance and address complaints while resolving problems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree required.
  • EMT, EMD, and/or Aviation experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology knowledge or medical secretary training preferred.
  • Previous experience in the medical field preferred.
  • General knowledge of codes, ordinances, regulations, geography, and public safety procedures preferred.
  • IAMTCS certification and advanced course required within 2 years of hire.
