About the position

The Communications and Marketing Director at UAB Callahan Eye is responsible for leading the marketing and communication strategies for the organization. This role involves planning, organizing, and executing marketing campaigns, overseeing brand management, and ensuring consistent messaging across various platforms. The director will work closely with the CEO and the UAB Medicine Marketing Department to enhance the institution's visibility and engagement with its target audience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute all marketing and advertising campaigns for Callahan and the Ophthalmology Services Foundation (OSF).
  • Manage all internal and external communications.
  • Oversee brand management, social media efforts, sponsorships, and events.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across platforms.
  • Develop and manage project and information management, workflow processes, and monitor stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Liaison with appropriate offices across UAB and UAB Medicine to ensure adherence to UAB's marketing protocols.
  • Support communication and marketing efforts across the organization.
  • Manage content and messaging for website and digital communications, including targeted email marketing, video production, and social media.
  • Serve as the brand manager and develop key messages for all Callahan and OSF.
  • Create a comprehensive marketing plan that aligns with the institution's goals, target audience, and budget.
  • Identify and define the institution's target audience and key competition.
  • Ensure a strong and consistent brand image that resonates with the target audience and conveys the institution's unique value proposition.
  • Leverage digital marketing channels, including social media marketing, pay-per-click advertising, and SEO, and traditional marketing channels to reach prospective clients effectively.
  • Continuously analyze marketing data, track key performance indicators, and adjust marketing strategies based on results to optimize department goals.
  • Ensure efficient allocation of marketing resources and maintain a cost-effective approach while meeting department goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressive management experience in Marketing, Communications, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.
