About the position

The Art Effect is seeking a Communications and Marketing Manager to oversee all aspects of the agency's print and media communication. This role is pivotal in crafting and disseminating press releases, managing website content, and developing marketing and social media messaging. The Communications and Marketing Manager will promote events and support program attendance and registration while reviewing collateral materials. This position requires collaboration across various departments and with program managers to create effective print and web-based materials that resonate with the community and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of social media tools, platforms, and trends, along with experience in web content development, brand management, and project management. The role demands an organized and independent individual capable of implementing content strategies on social media, analyzing engagement data, identifying trends in customer interactions, and planning digital campaigns. Strong writing skills and attention to detail are essential, as is experience in youth education organizations that utilize social media as a storytelling tool. As a member of The Art Effect team, the Communications and Marketing Manager will contribute to a creative organization that positively impacts the community through its projects and campaigns. Responsibilities

  • Develop campaigns that implement the promotional strategy for all of The Art Effect's programs and events through various methods and platforms.
  • Design creative strategies to increase audience base and engage students, alumni, community partners, and clients in The Art Effect's activities.
  • Supervise the Communications Assistant and coordinate all marketing and advertising from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with branding guidelines.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of social media campaigns, including scaling brand awareness and implementing social media strategies.
  • Draft and edit content for a wide range of communication deliverables, including press releases, social media posts, and web content.
  • Develop media strategies, draft responses to inquiries, and pitch content to publishers and bloggers.
  • Oversee part-time Marketing Design Assistant and create marketing collateral such as e-blasts, flyers, and brochures.
  • Manage communications and marketing for workshops, exhibition openings, and fundraising events.
  • Evaluate progress on all platforms and across campaigns using analytical tools and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in marketing or communications, preferably in a non-profit or youth-focused organization.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with social media management and digital marketing strategies.
  • Ability to analyze engagement data and identify trends in customer interactions.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools and software is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in an organization focused on youth education using social media as a storytelling tool.
  • Familiarity with analytical tools for tracking and reporting on marketing campaigns.
