About the position

The Communications and Marketing Officer (CMO) at the University of South Florida's Patel College of Global Sustainability is responsible for enhancing the college's brand, visibility, and image through strategic marketing, communication, and public relations activities. This role involves developing promotional materials, managing media relations, and coordinating events to support the college's enrollment goals and community engagement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Support brand management to ensure appropriate display and utilization of USF Patel College of Global Sustainability designs and university graphics.
  • Identify, develop, and market stories through newsletters and other means that promote program-related content such as research projects and community outreach efforts.
  • Coordinate and manage events such as webinars and recruitment fairs to support college enrollment goals.
  • Promote PCGS Master's Degree Programs to a wide range of audiences and build relationships with media outlets to increase exposure.
  • Develop a unique content strategy for marketing content aimed at recruiting new students.
  • Create content for various marketing platforms including websites, email campaigns, and social media.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement college events to promote PCGS branding and visibility.
  • Make presentations and speeches to promote the college and develop presentation materials for others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media, or related field with two years of experience; or a Master's degree in the same fields.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong IT and social media skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3-5 years of experience in related positions for candidates with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with marketing techniques and strategies.
  • Creative and innovative skills.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a salary range of $55,000 - $60,000.
