About the position

The Marketing and Communications Specialist will be responsible for promoting the organization's programs and services to funders, community partners, and supporters. This role focuses on strategic outreach and marketing efforts, particularly in branding initiatives for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with staff and the executive director to understand programs and communication needs.
  • Drafts and proposes fundraising campaigns using various media channels.
  • Presents graphic design ideas and recommendations to the executive director and staff.
  • Creates and coordinates multimedia packages for outreach.
  • Composes emails and correspondence for the executive director, assisting with newsletters.
  • Evaluates the success of completed campaigns.
  • Attends fundraising events and community fairs, staffing the organization's table.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Bilingual skills required (English/Korean or English/Chinese).
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Non-profit Management, Journalism, Advertising, Communications, or related field.
  • Two to three years of related experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Korean or other Asian immigrant communities.
  • Experience in graphic design.
