About the position

The Communications and Marketing Specialist at Place of Hope is responsible for overseeing all aspects of writing and communications for the organization. This role encompasses managing the organization's website, portal, and database, as well as developing, writing, scheduling, and posting content across various social media platforms. The specialist will also handle general business affairs and inventory management, ensuring that all graphics and communications requests are tracked effectively. In this position, the specialist will create written communications and designs for the organization's social media platforms, fundraising events, and marketing campaigns. They will be tasked with developing written materials for various marketing channels and ensuring that the organization's website is well-maintained and up-to-date. The role requires a strong focus on creating visually appealing graphics and written communications that align with the organization's advertising and marketing strategies. Additionally, the Communications and Marketing Specialist will manage all social media platforms, ensuring that all communications adhere to the organization's policies, procedures, and standards. This position also involves day-to-day business affairs, including coordinating interactions with vendors, suppliers, service providers, regulatory agencies, donors, and volunteers. The specialist will be required to attend and coordinate at all organizational events and work closely with the CEO and Director of Advancement to develop donor relation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Create all written communications and designs for the organization's social media platforms.
  • Create and design written materials for all fundraising events, events, and marketing campaigns.
  • Create and design written materials for all marketing channels for various projects.
  • Create written communications for the organization's website.
  • Manage the organization's website upkeep.
  • Develop and design written graphics and visual communications materials for advertising and marketing.
  • Manage all social media platforms for the organization.
  • Create designs for all manners of communication for the organization.
  • Ensure all written, graphics and visual communications, development and fundraising policies, procedures, rules, regulations, standards, and operating protocol are in compliance.
  • Responsible for day to day general business affairs, including coordination of interaction with vendors, suppliers, service providers, regulatory agencies, donors, and volunteers.
  • Attend and coordinate at all organization events.
  • Manage donor relation strategies with the CEO and Director of Advancement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent communications work experience.
  • One year of relevant experience in communications.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong general knowledge of communications and advancement.
  • Experience with social media management.
  • Flexibility to handle various communications responsibilities.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and social media platforms.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software, particularly Canva, database software, and WordPress.
