About the position

The San Diego City Attorney's Office is seeking applications for the Unclassified position of Communications and Public Engagement Manager. Under the direction of the Chief of Staff, the Communications and Public Engagement Manager will assist the Chief of Staff and City Attorney in all manner of public communications and outreach, including responding to media inquiries, organizing community forums, developing printed materials, creating content for the City Attorney's Office website and social media accounts, communicating with members of the public, and acting as a liaison to the media and City communication staff. The Communications and Public Engagement Manager will also support the work of the City Attorney's Office in state and federal legislative affairs. The successful candidate should have prior government experience.

Responsibilities
