About the position

At NET Power, we are passionate about making an impact in the clean energy sector. We are seeking a Communications and Social Media Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in promoting our innovative clean energy technology. This position is crucial for translating NET Power's technology and its benefits to our stakeholders, as well as developing and executing marketing strategies, campaigns, and events that highlight our unique value proposition. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Energy Policy and will be instrumental in bringing our brand image to life, delivering compelling messages to our target audiences. This role can be based in either our Durham, NC or Houston, TX office, and offers a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and two days remote. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a variety of marketing initiatives, including digital marketing, social media, email campaigns, public relations, and events. You will support the implementation of NET Power's branding and develop engaging content across multiple channels. Collaboration is key, as you will coordinate with NET Power partners to ensure alignment on messaging, technical marketing, and project timing. Additionally, you will analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and challenges that can enhance our marketing efforts. Your responsibilities will also include facilitating the development of NET Power messaging and managing communication strategies for external stakeholders, including investors and community members. You will lead the creation of white papers, sales materials, social media posts, and other communications that effectively tell the NET Power story. Budget management and measuring the effectiveness of marketing activities will also be part of your role, ensuring that we achieve a strong return on investment. Furthermore, you will manage the events calendar, coordinating speakers, presentation decks, and sponsorship deliverables for external corporate events and tradeshows.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and implement marketing initiatives, including digital, social media, email, web, PR, and events.
  • Support implementation of NET Power branding.
  • Develop and implement engaging and informative content across channels.
  • Coordinate with NET Power partners to create and maintain alignment on messaging, technical marketing, and project timing.
  • Analyze market, media, and social trends; customer needs; and competitor activities to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Facilitate development of NET Power messaging and manage communications strategies for external stakeholders, including investors and community members.
  • Lead development of white papers, sales materials, social media posts, and other communications that tell the NET Power story.
  • Create and oversee marketing budgets and timelines.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness and ROI of marketing activities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as commercial, engineering, product, origination, finance, and key partners.
  • Manage the events calendar, coordinating speakers, presentation decks, and sponsorship deliverables for external corporate events and tradeshows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in the energy or technology sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute successful marketing campaigns across multiple channels and platforms.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Creative, innovative, and passionate about clean energy and sustainability.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills that can clarify and simplify technical issues and adapt writing in tone and technique to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in leveraging relevant software and tools for project management and communication (i.e., Salesforce Sales Cloud, Pardot, ...)
  • Personable and good sense of humor.
