About the position

The Communications Assistant / Graphic Designer at MKA International, Inc. is responsible for supporting marketing initiatives and enhancing brand visibility through effective communication strategies. This role involves creating and implementing both online and print communications, designing marketing materials, and providing administrative support to the Communications Manager. The position requires a blend of creativity, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with online/print communications including writing, editing, and proofreading marketing materials, website and social media content, forms, and presentations.
  • Create and design compelling graphics, text, and video content for marketing materials, social media, website, and promotional items based on brand guidelines.
  • Implement design elements and content via WordPress.
  • Assist with scheduling social media content and monitor current trends to ensure effectiveness.
  • Assist in preparation and coordination with webinars, training, and event participation including various sponsorships, conferences, and seminars; understand requirements and provide support as needed including travel arrangements for staff and budget management.
  • Assist with various aspects of presenting a positive company image - internally and externally - through advertising and other communication efforts.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Communications Manager and assistance with day-to-day activities.

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Applications including but not limited to Adobe Suite Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Must possess a solid understanding of design principles / printing.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Expertise in social media platforms, specifically LinkedIn.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues, responsiveness, and adherence to mobile-first design principles.
  • Proven attention to detail and experience with exercising good judgment.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and establish positive and professional relationships with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously - strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent analytical, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven initiative and efficiency.
  • 3-5 years of experience in communications or graphic design.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or associated field.
