About the position
The Communications Center Dispatcher at the Madison County Sheriff's Office is a critical role responsible for receiving and transmitting vital information during emergencies, including life-threatening situations. This position requires effective communication skills and the ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Receive and transmit crucial information through telephone and radio communications.
- Maintain a courteous and professional attitude toward the public and other agencies.
- Work rotating 12-hour shifts, including day, night, and mid-shift assignments.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by a Communications Supervisor, Undersheriff, or the Sheriff.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School diploma or equivalency is required.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to multi-task and possess computer knowledge.
- Must have FCIC/NCIC certifications.
- Must satisfactorily pass all applications, backgrounds, oral interviews, drug screening, and physical examinations.
