About the position

The Communications Coordinator role at Expeditors is an integral part of the Global Sales & Marketing department, focusing on enhancing corporate and internal communications. This position is pivotal in maintaining an effective intranet experience, known as 'insite', which serves as a vital resource for employees. The coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and editing weekly articles, ensuring that the content is organized, engaging, and up-to-date across various pages. This role is essential in overseeing internal communication channels, such as Employee News and Global News, which are designed to keep employees informed about significant news and changes within the company. In addition to managing the intranet, the Communications Coordinator will assist in content creation, review, and editing for executive communications and special projects. This includes collaborating with various teams within the organization, such as Marketing, Digital Marketing, Design, Digital Media, Products, and Services, to effectively plan and communicate content that resonates with the global network. The coordinator will also be tasked with identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing new solutions that enhance communication both at the corporate level and globally. This role requires a proactive approach to communication, ensuring that all information disseminated is not only accurate but also engaging and relevant to the audience. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of quality in their work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage internal communication mailboxes, including Employee News and Global News
  • Coordinate, review, and publish intranet articles and information, maintain homepage
  • Ad hoc assistance with SharePoint sites and pages
  • Support corporate communications tactical business plans and projects to create engaging and compelling content for our global network
  • Collaborate with Marketing and other communications roles - including Digital Marketing, Design, Digital Media, Products, and Services - to effectively plan, create, and communicate content
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and new solutions both at Corporate and globally

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Enjoys writing and editing
  • Possesses excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrates detail-oriented project management and time management skills
  • Produces high-quality work under tight deadlines
  • Communicates effectively with stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Proficient in full Microsoft Office suite
