About the position

The Communications Coordinator is a senior member of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions communications team at Oklahoma State University. This role supports the university's enrollment management goals by leading communication, marketing, and outreach efforts aimed at prospective students, their families, and other stakeholders. The position involves managing email projects, coordinating a team of communications specialists, and ensuring that all communications align with brand standards. The coordinator will also analyze CRM data, execute social media campaigns, and provide leadership in special initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all email projects related to prospective student communications.
  • Lead a team of communications specialists in creating engaging content for prospective students.
  • Analyze CRM data to inform communication strategies and best practices.
  • Ensure all copy and design align with Brand Management standards.
  • Assist in executing social media campaigns to enhance outreach efforts.
  • Provide project management and guidance in training new staff members.
  • Carry out special initiatives as assigned by the leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or Business.
  • Three years of experience in publications, news media, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in communications and/or marketing, including writing, editing, and social media.
  • Project management and leadership/staff management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage projects on strict deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience with marketing content creation.
  • Experience with website editing, preferably using Omni Update platform.
  • Understanding of CRM technology, preferably in higher education.
  • Experience leading multi-channel marketing strategies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Five years of communications experience in a higher education setting.
  • Experience with graphic design and familiarity with Adobe Suite products.
  • Knowledge of advertising layout and design.
  • Working knowledge of HTML or CSS.
