About the position

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for implementing and evaluating marketing and communication strategies for the Early Learning Coalition of Osceola County. This role focuses on brand management, marketing, and both internal and external communications, ensuring consistent messaging across various platforms. The position requires crafting compelling content, managing communication channels, and engaging with community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective communication with families, employers, childcare providers, and community stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with leadership in writing, designing, and distributing executive communications, reports, and presentations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage with the community, including responding to inquiries and managing online communities.
  • Analyze data and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reports by designated timeframes.
  • Produce correspondence, reports, and other documents as applicable.
  • Write and edit a wide range of content in various formats for various platforms.
  • Coordinate communication efforts to promote events, webinars, conferences, and other initiatives both online and offline.
  • Assist in developing and implementing crisis communication plans and protocols.
  • Create monthly newsletters to families and providers in coordination with the management team.
  • Update and maintain all pages of the agency's website with the most up-to-date information.
  • Develop and post content for the agency's social media accounts that entertain, engage, and provide quality customer service.
  • Monitor all social media accounts interacting with users positively.
  • Create and print temporary community signage and flyers as needed.
  • Create digital flyers following the agency's brand guidelines.
  • Secure, maintain, and store the ELC's photos, video, and other images along with permission to publish releases.
  • Participate in required state and local training and conference calls.
  • Coordinate special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant work experience; Associate's degree and 6+ years of relevant work experience; or HS Diploma/equivalency and 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with design and communications platforms, including Canva, Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, Event Brite, Webflow, Facebook, Instagram.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication, both verbally and in writing, within a diverse, multi-lingual environment.
  • Ability to work with autonomy and create solutions for clients and colleagues with little direct supervision.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and respond to changing community needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Commitment to respect privacy and maintain confidentiality with clients and staff.
  • Demonstrate a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Access to reliable transportation to/from work office.
