This role involves leading media relations, financial communications, crisis communications, and collaborating with the marketing team on content strategies. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of technical nuances, and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead corporate-specific media relations, financial communications, crisis communications, and analyst relations.
• Manage event activations and partner with the marketing team on owned/social content.
• Work with legal, policy, and marketing teams on critical incidents.
• Define and evolve communications strategies for fast-moving companies in the high-tech and AI space.
• Manage an external PR agency to build the Scale brand and awareness in the AI industry.
• Collaborate with the marketing team on integrated external communications and content strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 10+ years of transferrable public relations experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced technology company or technology-focused agency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including formal correspondence and speechwriting.
• Ability to quickly process new technical terminology and simplify it for media or stakeholders.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Experience managing and mentoring team members.
