About the position

The Communications Director at Sent Church is a part-time role responsible for developing and executing communication strategies to promote the church's events and ministries. This position involves managing various communication channels, including print, email, social media, and web content, to effectively support the church's vision and goals. The role requires collaboration with church leadership and staff to create cohesive promotional materials and maintain an organized system for media assets.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Lead Pastor and Ministry Staff to produce a cohesive plan for promoting events/ministries within Sent Church.
  • Produce graphics and promotional materials for events and ministries, including mailers, printed cards, signage, and T-Shirts.
  • Create and maintain communications policy and procedure materials as well as brand guidelines.
  • Maintain website and social media channels with regular updates.
  • Manage organic and paid promotions/posts to social media channels.
  • Coordinate a team of volunteers to capture photos and videos of services and events.
  • Maintain an organized system for graphics, photos, and video files.
  • Attend all staff meetings and other assigned meetings as a contributing member of the staff.
  • Manage projects, organize tasks, and prioritize workload to assist the team in fulfilling the church's mission.
  • Be available to work evenings and weekends as needed, including rare emergency work during non-business hours.
  • Help answer phones and welcome visitors in the office as needed.
  • Suggest improvements and best practices when appropriate.
  • Be actively involved in the church and in a small group or discipleship group.
  • Maintain personal spiritual disciplines necessary for vibrant spiritual leadership.
  • Pursue education and training to develop knowledge of leadership and communications-related strategies.

Requirements

  • Preferred Associate Degree or equivalent in Communications, Copywriting, Advertising, Graphic Design, or related fields.
  • Previous work experience with graphics creation, communications systems, website, and social media management.
  • Proficient with communications/graphics products including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Final Cut/Premier.
  • Ability to function effectively and calmly in stressful situations.
  • Effective and amiable interaction with a variety of work styles and people.
