About the position

The University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking a part-time, temporary AANAPISI Program Assistant to support the Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions grant program. This role focuses on enhancing educational achievement for AAPI students through outreach, recruitment, and program coordination. The assistant will work closely with various stakeholders to implement educational programs and provide support services aimed at increasing college degree attainment and student success.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating outreach and recruitment efforts to AAPI students.
  • Promote UMass Lowell's AANAPISI program.
  • Support the mission and goals of the AANAPISI five-year grant funded program.
  • Collaborate with the Project Director and Program Coordinators to implement educational programs.
  • Provide culturally appropriate direct services to the AACEE student cohort program.
  • Facilitate career preparedness, student wellbeing, financial awareness, and identity development topics.

Requirements

  • Current UML employee within the same Bargaining unit.
  • Experience in program coordination or support roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with AAPI communities.
  • Knowledge of higher education systems and student support services.
