About the position

At Nebraska Family Planning (NEFP), we work to provide equitable access to quality sexual and reproductive healthcare services and education for Nebraskans statewide. We are a small not-for-profit organization that manages a statewide initiative that braids both federal and private funding to advance our mission. NEFP is at an exciting time of growth and expansion. As a collaborative team of subject matter experts, we work in an integrated and iterative fashion to implement, evolve, and expand programming and best practices. NEFP is in a period of growth and expansion and seeking an experienced, passionate, mission-driven marketing/communications professional to join the Communications Team. We seek someone with a diverse design and communications skillset, who can help strategize a thriving future and implement day-to-day tasks. The Communications & Graphic Design Manager is a new role intended to grow and advance NEFP's communications, marketing, branding, development, and relationship-building efforts. This position reports to the Director of Communications & Resource Development. The role is ideal for someone passionate about brand management, communications, creativity, design, reproductive and sexual healthcare, and serving their fellow Nebraskans.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Director of Communications & Resource Development to create and implement communications and development strategies which advance clear, compelling, consistent messages and effectively promote NEFP's brand and strategic goals to current and potential partners.
  • Support content development, execution, distribution, and maintenance for all print and digital collateral including newsletters, brochures, annual reports, grant cycle summaries, email, social media, websites, slide decks, short-form video, and other assets and projects as necessary.
  • Manage the creation, distribution, and maintenance of high-quality, innovative multimedia content and projects.
  • Creation of social media assets, and maintenance and monitoring of social media accounts across multiple platforms.
  • Evolve content and visual standards to simplify, unify, and optimize for reach.
  • Identify content gaps, emerging trends, and peer organization activities.
  • Monitor and analyze content performance and build insights back into programs to continually optimize results.
  • Partner with internal Programs & Initiatives Team to support community engagement.
  • Support research and identify government, corporate, foundation, and private funding opportunities on a local, state, and federal level.
  • Help monitor donor pipeline and grants calendar.
  • Develop compelling messaging and implement strategies for consistent, clear communication with existing and prospective donors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, graphic design or journalism.
  • Minimum of 5 years' work experience in a marketing/communications role.
  • Superb design skills and the ability to communicate in compelling ways to a wide range of stakeholders across multiple channels/platforms.
  • Compelling portfolio of projects that displays skills and ability to support an organization's goals in work, showing mastery in typography, color theory, layout, and composition, and adaptability in both digital and physical mediums.
  • Mastery of industry-standard tools including graphic design software, content management systems, and social media platforms (i.e., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Hootsuite, Mailchimp, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with donors, other stakeholders across the organization, and network partners.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills ensuring multiple projects track concurrently.
  • Great attitude, ability to recalibrate based on constructive feedback, and appreciation for continuous learning.
  • Commitment to the vision, mission, and the value of the not-for-profit sector.
