About the position

The Communications Manager for Child Welfare at JBS International is responsible for leading all communications activities aimed at promoting awareness and engagement in child welfare issues. This role involves developing strategic outreach plans, managing content creation, and conducting research to understand audience needs. The position is pivotal in ensuring effective communication with child welfare professionals and partners, ultimately contributing to the well-being and safety of children and families across the nation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all communications activities including strategic outreach and dissemination plans.
  • Manage the development of messaging and content for various products tailored to audiences.
  • Prepare client-ready written materials and meeting summaries.
  • Lead formative research to gain insights into audience needs and preferences.
  • Manage task-specific obligations and budgets, maintaining operations of assigned activities.
  • Supervise and guide direct reports in their job functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of solid communication experience or Master's degree and 5+ years of solid communication experience.
  • Proven experience developing strategic communications plans and executing outreach strategies.
  • Experience with public child welfare issues related to practice, policy, and research.
  • Familiarity with a federal contracting environment and ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with media monitoring tools (e.g., Cision).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
