About the position

The Communications Manager at Carnegie Mellon University's CIT Dean's Office Marketing and Communications is responsible for managing communication projects and developing strategic marketing and communications initiatives. This role involves assessing the effectiveness of campaigns, soliciting feedback, and overseeing the production and delivery of communication materials. The position requires strong project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve departmental objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Assess effectiveness of campaigns/projects and solicit feedback from stakeholders.
  • Incorporate improvements into future communications plans.
  • Act as a project manager to develop communication materials or implement communications plans.
  • Establish communication policies or procedures.
  • Oversee vendors involved in the production and delivery of communications.
  • May supervise staff as needed.
  • Assess assigned area's project needs and objectives.
  • Work with senior management to develop and approve comprehensive marketing and communications plans.
  • Manage project needs for a department, division, or area related to all aspects of marketing and communications.
  • Determine needs, materials, and implementation of communications including medium for delivery and technical resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-8 years of Communications experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed project management skills.
  • Effective relationship building skills.
