About the position

The Communications Manager for Energy, Natural Resources, and Infrastructure (ENRI) at A&O Shearman will be responsible for shaping and advancing the firm's external communications strategy. This role is crucial for enhancing the firm's U.S. and global presence through strategic media relations and impactful communications campaigns. The manager will support partners within the ENRI department and serve as a global champion for the Energy & Infrastructure sector, ensuring a cohesive and effective external communications strategy that aligns with the firm's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with the firm's business objectives.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with key U.S. media contacts and influencers.
• Develop and execute US media outreach strategies to enhance the firm's visibility and thought leadership.
• Craft high-quality press releases, media statements, and other external communication materials.
• Lead and oversee external communications campaigns from conception through execution and evaluation.
• Maintain and enhance the firm's brand image across all external platforms.
• Collaborate with practice area leaders and senior stakeholders to align external communications efforts with strategic priorities.
• Develop and track metrics to assess the effectiveness of external communications initiatives.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in external communications, particularly in media relations and public relations within professional services.
• Ability to establish good working relationships and promote best practices.
