About the position

The Communications Manager for Global Food Systems at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) plays a pivotal role in managing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communications plans that highlight the organization's extensive food systems projects, programs, and partnerships. This position is crucial for supporting the communications needs and opportunities across a globally dispersed team focused on various workstreams, including fisheries, regenerative agriculture, and zero-conversion commodities. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Global Agriculture & Land Use, the Communications Manager will facilitate ongoing communication among team members and stakeholders, ensuring that all parts of the organization are aligned and informed about the goals and objectives of the food systems initiatives. In this role, the Communications Manager will coordinate various components of digital, social, and earned media, as well as manage logistics for off-site events as directed by the program's marketing and communications plans. The position requires a strategic thinker who can create compelling communications materials tailored to diverse target audiences worldwide. The Communications Manager will also be responsible for designing processes that streamline marketing and communications management among team members, ensuring that project goals and metrics are met on schedule and within budget. Excellent writing and editing skills, along with strong project management experience, are essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing communications deliverables across multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating the ability to cultivate and manage client relationships effectively. They will be adept at organizing and coordinating various projects while possessing the skills necessary for writing, editing, and proofreading high-quality content. Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement marketing and communications plans for food systems projects.
  • Support communications needs and opportunities across a globally dispersed team.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication between team members involved in global food systems workstreams.
  • Coordinate digital, social, and earned media components as well as off-site event logistics.
  • Develop and foster relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Create communications materials and packages that appeal to various target audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
  • Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects.
  • Experience writing, editing, and proofreading.
