About the position
The Communications Manager at the University of Texas at Dallas will oversee and enhance communication strategies for the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS). This role focuses on delivering high-quality written and verbal communications, ensuring effective messaging for both internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and proofread content for internal and external communications, including the website and social media.
- Develop and implement communication projects from conception to completion, focusing on internal and external communications.
- Coordinate with various teams to ensure seamless communication efforts across all platforms.
- Track media coverage and manage social listening activities.
- Train and manage content owners on best practices for content management and accessibility.
- Analyze content performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Attend BBS events and interview faculty and stakeholders to create impactful content.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, English, or Marketing.
- Five to seven years of experience in communications, with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Experience in web content management and digital communication.
Nice-to-haves
- Three years of experience in web content management or similar roles.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and web accessibility standards.
- Familiarity with CampusPress or similar web publishing software.
- Strong project management skills and experience in a higher education environment.
