About the position

As the Communications Manager of Woodhaven, you will be an integral part of the development team working to engage and educate audiences about intellectual and developmental disabilities along with neurodivergence. Woodhaven is currently reinvesting in our marketing efforts and is seeking talented professionals with builder mentalities and growth mindsets to join our team. This is a new position, and you will be working closely with our development team and external partners to develop project workplans to meet our communication goals. If you're up for the challenge of figuring out how to reach target audiences about the important work of Woodhaven, we want you to be part of our development team. You will oversee the implementation of all our marketing efforts, from brand awareness campaigns and new strategic partnerships to digital outreach. You will think about how the organization should introduce itself to new audiences and strengthen our connections with our existing supporters, through marketing collateral, at events, and efforts such as our annual stakeholder fundraisers, program awareness, and major gift campaigns. You will strategize how to reach decision makers, potential advocates, and new supporters. You will work with our creative team of vendors to help them act as a brand guardian, ensuring we have messaging and brand consistency across assets. This is a full-time position reporting to the Chief Development Officer. This is a flexible, hybrid position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and evaluate multi-channel digital marketing, promotional and fundraising activities.
  • Manage multi-channel advertising, social media, and content marketing.
  • Create digital collateral, including brochures, newsletters, and advertisements to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Propose and implement initiatives to achieve identified programming, fundraising goals, and brand-awareness objectives.
  • Serve as team lead for standard and special digital marketing campaigns.
  • Use a data-driven strategic approach to update website content to encourage audience engagement.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, web developers, and graphic designers.
  • Support major gifts, campaigns, fundraising, communications, and special events.

Requirements

  • An Associate degree is required; A Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, social/digital communications or related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of marketing experience, with demonstrated success in print and digital publishing, social media platforms, and marketing campaigns for a nonprofit organization and/or consumer brand.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms and solid advertising skills.
  • Experience with digital, print, and broadcast advertising campaigns.
  • Experience sending and managing campaigns via email platforms such as MailChimp and familiarity with website content management systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Facebook ads manager and associated digital advertising tracking implementations.
  • Knowledge of supporter, advocate, and donor pipeline.
  • Proven skill in promoting fundraising events.
