About the position

The Communications Manager at WKAR Public Media is responsible for coordinating and distributing information related to all WKAR entities. This role involves creating and managing online communications, drafting news releases, and producing various print materials to inform the public and the University about WKAR's events and initiatives. The position requires strong writing and design skills to effectively promote the WKAR brand.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, assemble, and distribute information for WKAR Public Media entities.
• Plan, create, produce, photograph, edit, record, and draft releases and feature materials for online communications and publications.
• Identify sources of information and conduct research, surveys, and interviews to gather relevant content.
• Compose, edit, design, record, produce, and duplicate digital or printed programs or materials.
• Coordinate and approve the work of graphic artists, photographers, and printers, monitoring work in progress.
• Implement technological enhancements for the communication unit.

Requirements

• Strong writing skills with the ability to create compelling content.
• Experience in digital communication and media production.
• Proficiency in graphic design and editing software.

• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
