About the position

The Communications Manager at Textron eAviation is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication programs that promote the company's products and enhance its market position. This role involves close collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team to create effective communication strategies for both internal and external audiences, ensuring that key messages are delivered through various channels. The position also requires managing media relations and serving as a spokesperson for the company.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted communications advisor and coach to business leaders.
• Create, implement and oversee external communications programs and public relations activities, including product announcements and media events.
• Develop effective relationships with key members of the media and serve as an official company spokesperson.
• Create and disseminate content including press releases, bylined articles, and social media content.
• Provide counsel and support for crisis management and executive communications.
• Ensure brand values and visual identity are incorporated into deliverables.
• Develop and sustain processes to improve the efficiency of the communications function.
• Partner with other Textron business units to leverage communications opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in media relations and strategic communications.
• Experience in the aviation industry and global exposure preferred.
• Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills utilizing AP style.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.
• Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills, including organizing, planning, and execution experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience managing outside agencies and vendors.
• Knowledgeable in social networking and content marketing forums.
