About the position

In this role, you will coordinate and assist with both external and internal communications to enhance Syngenta's reputation as a leading innovator and supplier in the Crop Protection sector. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement innovative and engaging communication strategies that align with the Crop Protection strategy, supporting business priorities, enhancing employee engagement, increasing leader visibility, and facilitating new product introductions. You will also focus on site communications and customer engagement to ensure that all messaging is clear and effective. You will be tasked with coordinating and contributing to various editorial and communication digital tools, including social media platforms, videos, podcasts, e-newsletters, and news sources such as Sharepoint, Teams, and mySyngenta. Monitoring metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of these communications will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will coordinate and assist with internal and external communication strategies and plans in alignment with the North America Strategic Communications plan and the North America Crop Protection Commercial plan. This will involve effective message and narrative development for business positioning and thought leadership aimed at key internal and external audiences. Your role will also include providing assistance in managing internal and external issues and crisis communications, developing strategic messaging, and implementing innovative communications aimed at key audiences. Collaboration will be essential, as you will work closely with various departments including Marketing Communications, Internal Communications, Legal, Business Sustainability, Human Resources, Facilities, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial to ensure alignment of communication strategies and efficient operations. Furthermore, you will assist in working with external resources such as agencies, writers, graphic artists, and video producers to develop communication assets including presentations, print and digital collateral, news releases, Q&As, backgrounders, and videos. You will also be involved in communication plans regarding key issues with relevant external organizations that support our business and freedom to operate, serving as a member of relevant industry associations' communications committees. This position is hybrid and located in Greensboro, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assist with external and internal communications to enhance Syngenta's reputation.

  • Coordinate and contribute to editorial and communication digital tools including social media, videos, podcasts, and e-newsletters.
  • Monitor metrics to evaluate communication effectiveness.
  • Assist with internal and external communications strategies/plans in coordination with the North America Strategic Communications plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of corporate communication experience.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship support from Syngenta.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong writing and editing skills, knowledge of AP Style guidelines.
  • Technical capabilities with Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Willingness to learn and be proficient in digital tools such as Zoom and Sharepoint.
  • Experience in communications strategy, planning, implementation, and supplier management.
  • Experience managing media relations and crisis communications events.
  • Prior experience with agriculture communications and litigation communications.
  • Expertise in employing digital tools and social media.
