About the position

Signature Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and skilled Communications Manager to oversee all organizational communications development. This role involves the creation and editing of content tailored to specific audience targets, ensuring effective communication across various platforms. The Communications Manager will be responsible for managing media relations, public relations, website content, and internal communications projects that support the Signature Healthcare system. This position requires a proactive approach to gather and secure pertinent information on behalf of the organization, sharing it appropriately across all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will develop communications and content for various initiatives, including newsletters, patient portal messaging, media alerts, and more. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to independently develop communications content for diverse audiences within the healthcare sector. Strong self-direction and articulation in responding to media and public relations opportunities are essential. The role demands exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent research, writing, editing, and proofreading abilities. The Communications Manager must be adept at meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. In addition to managing community and internal newsletters, the Communications Manager will coordinate and support the Marketing & Communications team in accomplishing a wide range of projects for the organization and its affiliates. The role also involves identifying areas for strategic growth and developing master plans to support these initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Develop communications content independently for various audiences in the healthcare arena.
  • Self-direct content and articulate responses to media and public relations opportunities.
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Conduct excellent research, writing, editing, proofreading, and communication for internal and external communications.
  • Meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage, coordinate, and support the Marketing & Communications team on various projects.
  • Utilize Lean tools and resources for management and departmental efficiency.
  • Independently manage community and internal newsletters, content, and budget with management support.
  • Identify areas for strategic growth and develop master plans to support these initiatives.
  • Demonstrate respect for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and employees.
  • Commit to recognizing and respecting cultural diversity for all customers.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, utilizing interpreters when needed.
  • Perform other marketing and communication duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft products, web publishing, and social media.
  • Experience with InDesign, publishing software, and Photoshop required.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, seeing projects through from start to finish.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills are mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in various forms and seek clarification when necessary.
  • Use appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patients, physicians, and other associates.

Nice-to-haves
