About the position

The Marketing Director at Mid-Del Technology Center (MDTC) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for spearheading all marketing initiatives within the organization. This position requires a strategic thinker who can develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that align with MDTC's goals and enhance its visibility in the community. The Marketing Director will oversee a variety of marketing activities, including traditional and non-traditional methods such as print materials, digital media, social media, and community events. The role is designed to ensure that all marketing efforts are consistent with MDTC's brand identity and strategic plan. In addition to leading marketing efforts, the Marketing Director will guide the leadership team in the development of critical documents and opportunities, including CareerTech's accreditation application and various grants and awards. This position operates on a 235-day contract, with a daily schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and may require some evening and weekend work to fulfill the responsibilities effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Communications or a related field, or have at least five years of recent marketing experience. They should have a strong understanding of digital media and social media management, along with supervisory and project management experience. The Marketing Director will also be responsible for maintaining high standards across all marketing channels and ensuring that MDTC's offerings are effectively promoted to both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a robust marketing plan encompassing traditional and non-traditional methods, including print materials, digital media, social media, website management, and community events.
  • Maintain high standards across all marketing channels, ensuring consistency with MDTC's brand identity.
  • Lead and motivate the marketing/hospitality team while fostering a work environment of collaboration, high performance, and positivity.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote MDTC's offerings and initiatives.
  • Create a detailed budget plan that outlines expected costs for campaigns, events, advertising, and other marketing activities, manage the marketing budget, and regularly review and adjust the budget based on campaign performance.
  • Serve as the MDTC representative and actively engage in CareerTech statewide marketing meetings, local marketing meetings, and community events.
  • Coordinate and attend events to take photographs and gather necessary information to post across social media platforms and website, as well as send press releases to appropriate outlets when necessary.
  • Keep the website and marketing channels up to date with current information.
  • Serve on the MDTC Leadership Team and actively engage in leadership team meetings, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Manage and guide the leadership team in the development of CareerTech's accreditation application, post-accreditation monitoring, Tech Center grants/financial opportunities, and OKACTE awards for MDTC and its staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Marketing and Communications or a related field, or at least 5 years of recent experience in marketing, including developing content.
  • Knowledge of the CareerTech System strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with and managing digital media, social media platforms, and website content.
  • Supervisory and project management experience preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking, planning, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding written & verbal interpersonal and customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in educational marketing or working within a school district.
  • Familiarity with grant writing and management.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software and tools.
