About the position

The Communications & Marketing Manager at Florida International University (FIU) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Office of Business Services (OBS) Marketing Department. This role includes managing various marketing channels such as the website, social media, and email communications, while also developing marketing campaigns to enhance revenue and awareness. The manager will collaborate with OBS directors and the Marketing Director to create effective communication strategies and ensure brand consistency across all platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the OBS Marketing Department including website, social media, graphic content, and email communications.
  • Track analytics for all web-based marketing tools and present findings to management.
  • Develop specific marketing campaigns in coordination with OBS directors to drive revenue and awareness growth.
  • Hold meetings with OBS directors to identify areas of opportunity for marketing initiatives.
  • Manage the Shop.FIU website, ensuring real-time accuracy of information and content.
  • Oversee social media accounts, driving engagement and tracking metrics for campaigns.
  • Coordinate activation opportunities with internal and external partners, ensuring resource allocation and measurement requirements are met.
  • Manage email communication, tracking open and click-through rates, and reporting to management.
  • Oversee graphic content development and ensure brand consistency across all communications.
  • Source external vendors for goods and services as needed.
  • Present to student, faculty, and staff groups to promote OBS services and inform about initiatives.
  • Ensure team productivity and adherence to deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the division of External Relations on collateral material and advertising.
  • Perform essential duties during university emergencies, ensuring availability as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Media/Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Web and graphic design experience using software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with a variety of marketing concepts, practices, and procedures.
