The Communications Multimedia Specialist will create and deliver impactful multimedia content that connects Ferguson's 32,000+ U.S. associates with the company's strategy, values and key initiatives. This role is also responsible for enabling effective communication through multimedia content production and live event production for internal audiences. The Communications Multimedia Specialist has strong technical skills, is a storyteller and creative problem solver and has shown abilities in crafting compelling audio, visual and other multimedia assets to support business goals. This is a Hybrid role based out of our Corporate Offices in Newport News, VA, in accordance with the Ferguson Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote. Flexibility is essential based on production/video schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Produce internal multimedia projects from pre-production (planning, scheduling, logistics, etc.) production (filming, broadcast) to post-production and timely release of final product.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the post-production workflow through the Communications Studio (ingest, transcoding, media management, editing and authoring).
  • Create completed video applying creative editing skills in compliance with appropriate technical standards.
  • Create motion graphics and animations.
  • Handle studio media management and standard methodologies including; SAS management and deployment, cataloging media using Facilis FastTracker and archiving projects.
  • Ensure positive stakeholder and customer experience through all stages of production.
  • Maintain studio and computer equipment.
  • Work as an effective production team member and/or independently including solo productions.
  • Support Digital Communications Manager with live, external broadcast events like media interviews.
  • Support multimedia enablement resources such as remote and onsite video production guides.
  • Facilitate HQ Studio availability and support guest usage to ensure a consistent experience.
  • Facilitate on-set direction to talent, crew and vendor partners.
  • Engage in professional development to continuously grow and remain competent with industry standards.
  • Adhere to Ferguson brand standards.
  • Adhere to Company compliance and Health Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures and requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in video production, including pre and post-production.
  • Superior technical skills and mastery of video editing, motion graphics, animation, audio mixing color correction and authoring.
  • Strong working knowledge of video color space and standard profiles.
  • Highly skilled with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, Photoshop, AfterEffects, Indesign, Illustrator).
  • Strong working knowledge of file types (compressed and uncompressed) and distribution standards (H.264, HEVC, etc).
  • Experience with Davinci Resolve.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain file and project integrity across studio productions.
  • Ability to perform duties and adjust under pressure.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer editing systems, software and related equipment.
  • Diagnostic skills to resolve technical problems and discrepancies with both hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of modern cinema cameras, lighting and audio production techniques and equipment operation.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with team members, executives and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing, organizing and cataloging media assets.
  • Experience in video studio production and operations, including video, audio and lighting.
  • Experience at a Fortune 500 company or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Sharepoint, Viva Engage) preferred.
